If there’s one thing we should collectively commit to in 2022 it’s to make social media fun again (which is one of the reasons to join Bookstagram!)
One of the best ways I leveled up my own social media experience was to buckle down and finally get a #bookstagram. You know, an Instagram account dedicated solely to photographing, posting, engaging with, and talking about books.
Seriously the best account I’ve ever had, and by far the most genuine and fun.
So if you’ve been on the fence, here are 3 reasons to join bookstagram this year.
Pin this for later…
Bookstagram is full of genuine people who genuinely enjoy books just as much, if not more, than you. They don’t care about the algorithm, they don’t care about politics. They only care about posting their perfectly posed chapter with a cup of coffee and talking spoilers. And I’m here for it.
It’s honestly refreshing to have real conversations with real people that aren’t full of fake fluff, online bullying, or constant trolls. The people who land in your DMS aren’t trying to sell you anything (most of the time), they’re just honestly looking for that book review, man.
Bookstagram is a really great place to learn about new books. Whether it’s an up and coming release from your favorite (or a new) author, or it’s an old classic that hasn’t made its way to your shelf yet.
Seeing what everyone else is reading and recommending is a great way to get you excited about books to add to your list this year, and you can also share your best recommendations (or books you read and left behind).
It’s just plain fun. Who wouldn’t want to curate an entire feed to BOOKS? It’s a serious question because I can’t fathom anyone wouldn’t want to spend their free time styling, arranging, crafting, and photographing books.
Convinced? Great. Keep reading…
Starting a bookstagram is easier than you think.
First, decide what you want your handle to be. You can make your name a fun bookish pun, or keep it simple with something like @natashareads
Fun bookstagram name ideas:
@ilikebigbooks
@alwaysreading
@coffeeandbooks
@thebooktrovert
@currentlyreading
Then, you simply create an Instagram account. Start photographing pictures of your books, post, and get ready to engage!
To help you connect with other bookies, try using these popular bookstagram hashtags in your posts (remember, you can only use 30 hashtags per post):
#bookblog #bookblogger #bookblogging #bookbloggers #bookbloggerlife #bookbloggersofig #bookblogs #bookbloggersofinstagram #bookbloggerbooks #bookbloggerpost #bookbloggerslife #bookreviewblog #bookblogginglife #bookstagramblogger #bookhaul #bookhauls #bookhauler
