Ya’ll know I love a good book. Like, legit. My favorite way to spend a free hour is wandering aimlessly around a bookstore. They have to be actual books, too. No reading via Kindle or Nook, no hate, I just want to be able to hold the book and feel the pages as I turn them. We all have our thing and I guess that’s mine (shrugs).
And while I’m definitely not a genre snob – and will pretty much read anything except horror, I’ve definitely been going through a psychological thriller/suspense phase the last three years. Give or take. I haven’t really been counting.
While these books have been around for a few years, they’re definitely not ones to pass up. If you haven’t yet added these semi-oldies to your book shelf, do so. Asap. With warmer months ahead and hopefully a beach vacation or two, these books are definitely pack-worthy to take with wherever you go.

I am really surprised that “Deciduous” did not make this list! It is definitely the best psychological thriller that I’ve read in 2021. Here is the website if you want to check it out – https://www.michaeldevendorf.com/.
There is nothing worse than losing a loved one, now imagine losing two at the same time. What if you started to realize it may have been your fault? The book follows a forest conservationist named Sienna who loses both her children and plunges into grief. Both children died in or near the treehouse in her backyard (no spoilers! This happens very early on) and Sienna believes meditating near the places of their death will help her to better connect with them. But Sienna’s meditation reveals a dark & deeply disturbing look into her subconscious. I was amazed at how deeply this book affected me and how much I resonated with the main character. It is 100% a psychological thriller and truly an emotional rollercoaster too. If you check it out please let me know what you think!
I haven’t read that! I’ll definitely have to add it to my list to read, thanks for the suggestion!
